Picture of Residential Development & Property Our residential development & property unit has considerable experience in large scale residential developments and, in particular, apartment developments where the provision of services and long term management issues are crucially important. We aim to provide clear quality advice coupled with a responsive and efficient service. We also have the strength in depth to handle large numbers of unit sales efficiently and with the minimum of fuss. Our skills cover a broad range of matters, including:

  • site acquisition, stamp duty mitigation, environmental issues and due diligence
    generally;

  • the establishment of joint ventures to exploit development opportunities;

  • all construction-related issues including negotiation of building contracts,
    appointments and collateral warranties;

  • the preparation and review of documentation including contracts, leases,
    conveyances and transfers;

  • the inclusion of covenants tailored to the smooth day to day running of
    a development; and

  • the creation and running of tenants' management companies to provide services
    at the development.
The unit also handle private residential property matters, such as sale, purchases and re-mortgages. We aim to ensure that our clients have a clear understanding of the steps involved in their particular transaction and strive to keep them fully informed of all developments. In particular, professional fees and disbursements, such as stamp duty land tax and registration fees, are outlined in detail at the outset of the transaction.
