The Queen's University of Belfast (LL.B. Hons) 2001; Certificate in Professional Legal Studies 2003.

Laura is an associate in the firm's litigation department, having joined the firm in 2001. As part of the litigation team, Laura handles general commercial disputes but her main areas of practice are personal injury and insolvency. Laura also has a keen interest in the developing area of Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

Laura's recent experience includes the following:

Personal Injury

Laura's experience in personal injury matters spans both the County Courts and High Court. Laura frequently acts on behalf of insurers in actions arising out of road traffic collisions and also manages a caseload to include the following:

  • employer's liability;
  • road traffic collisions;
  • industrial disease;
  • medical negligence

    Insolvency:

    Laura handles a wide range of insolvency matters both acting for Creditors and indeed on behalf of Trustees in Bankruptcy, frequently appearing before the Bankruptcy Master in matters such as:

  • Obtaining Bankruptcy Petitions;
  • Acting on behalf of Trustee in Bankruptcy for repossession of a Bankrupt's matrimonial home;
  • Acting on behalf of Trustee in Bankruptcy in application to set aside transactions at undervalue.


  • Data Protection/Freedom of Information:

    Laura has developed a keen interest in this emerging area of law, and in so doing has advised in relation to the following:

  • Handling Subject Access Requests;
  • Data Protection compliance for private companies;
  • Advising public authorities in relation to responding to Freedom of Information requests.
