The Energy for Children Charitable Trust, set up and administered by Phoenix Natural Gas, has welcomed a fundraising boost from Belfast solicitor's firm L'Estrange & Brett.

Back in December L'Estrange & Brett decided that rather than sending traditional Christmas cards to clients they would instead prefer to inform them that a donation to a local Charity had been made in their name. Brian Henderson, Senior Partner at L'Estrange & Brett, explained: "Through our business relationship with Phoenix we became aware of the work of the Energy for Children Charitable Trust and decided we would offer our support in this way. We are pleased to be able to make a contribution that will hopefully assist with one of the many local projects the Trust is currently engaged in."

Peter Dixon, Chairman of the Energy for Children Charitable Trust and CEO of Phoenix Natural Gas, reflected:

"On behalf of the Trustees I would like to thank L'Estrange & Brett for their kind support. The Christmas card replacement initiative is a great way to raise money and I think business customers also appreciate its green benefits. It may seem a long way away but we would encourage other companies to have a look at implementing something similar, no matter what good cause they choose to support."

The Energy for Children Charitable Trust recently set itself a target of raising £250,000 for local disadvantaged children by the end of 2009.
